Thanks to all our veterans. What can you do to support these men and women? Lots of businesses sponsor or hang decorations that say thanks. Others run sales or offer other bonuses to recognize and appreciate those who’ve served.

What’s your favorite? It isn’t easy to choose with a résumé that includes Romancing the Stone, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Those who love Back to the Future would know why we asked: It was at 10:04 on November 12, 1955, that the Hill Valley clock tower was struck by lightning and frozen in time.


What are your feelings about people working on Thanksgiving Day?

There’s a lot of debate on this one right now — but, this essay (by a journalist who used to volunteer for the holiday shifts) points out that many shoppers like a chance to get a little break from family and festivities. And, many employees choose to work for some extra money — or (like the shoppers) an escape.


Cause Marketing is in! Does your company have a partnership to benefit an organization or issue?

Cause marketing is a growing strategy for companies. The purpose is to raise money and awareness for both the company and the cause, while increasing engagement with a company’s brand or product. There is usually a product for sale, a partnership between the company behind the product and a non-profit (or something similar), and a way to generate profits. October was a big month for cause marketers, since pink was everywhere.
