We want your blood. No, really — we do. As a company, we’ve committed to supporting the Red Cross with periodic blood drives. There’s one planned for Wednesday, September 4, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. It is easy to sign up online and use sponsor code 0176251. As far as questions and social media, this week was all over the place — but it all connects.

Meteor shower season is about to get underway!

8-13 Creative’s team of writers, editors, and designers have worked on multiple books on space and the universe … so just a little bit excited to see the things we’ve written about happening in the world, like this week’s Perseid Meteor Shower.

What is the most expensive phone app you have purchased and how much did it cost?

App development is one of our new specialties. That $10 app I hemmed and hawed about? Seemed sort of lame next to the nearly$1,000 VIP Black app. Fun list, though!

Did you attend Woodstock? Have you seen the Berlin Wall? What’s the most historical event of your time?

I’d have to say the events of 9/11 stand out — but, so does the Challenger explosion. And, even last year’s Inauguration, which I got to attend. History weaves in and out of our daily lives — this week in 1969, Woodstock was just wrapping up (it started on August 15) and on August 13, 1961, life changed in East Berlin forever when the Berlin Wall went up.

Do you know of a surviving veteran of WWII? Tell us about them!

This is a week to honor those who’ve served and fought for our country. August 15, 1945, was VJ Day — the day Japan surrendered, officially ending World War II. There are not many veterans left, and as a company that tells stories using words, photos, color, and ideas, we see value in taking a few moments to learn about the past and capture those moments.

An invitation: You can let us know your viewpoint — here, on Facebook, or on Twitter — Monday through Thursday, we pose questions ranging from lighter fare to industry-focused topics. Every Friday we look back at the week and dig a little deeper. If you are on Twitter, we are @ProLitho —  please follow us, and join the discussion about this week’s #4Qs. We’d also love to have you check us out at Facebook and LinkedIn.
