A couple new things worth noting this week: the sun has returned to Minnesota (no, I couldn’t resist!) and we’ve been including links with our Facebook #4Qs entries. In this week’s round up, we’re revisiting the links and adding some discussion. Our Twitter and Facebook chatter explored brand loyalties, spelling, and work perks. Read on:

What are your brand loyalties? Why?

Survey says J. Crew leads in apparel, Kohl’s is the favorite department store, and Wal-Mart leads discount. Other brands that people keep going back to include Home Depot, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Amazon.com, and eBay. The formula for success includes price and experience. But factors such as selection, credit cards, technology, and even famous shoppers all play in.

What words can you never remember the spelling of? Don’t worry, we won’t judge you!

You’re in good company if you are baffled by accommodate, a lot, calendar, gauge, and daiquiri. And, yes, I even had to doublecheck the list because I misspelled daiquiri trying to include it amongst the common trouble words. So, really. No judgment here at all!

What skill would you like to learn?

Whatever it is, the old saying practice makes perfect is true — by learning new skills you challenge your brain, and over time, it optimizes in order to coordinate.

What perk would you love to have at work?

Telecommuting and casual clothes are pretty common. But, some companies are allowing pets at work, unlimited vacation days, or fun activities, like skiing when it snows more than 2 feet in 24 hours. The rationale is giving employees freedom and flexibility and fun ups productivity and helps them think outside the box. Employers are also accommodating more of employees personal lives at work, because they gain more flexibility as far as working.
