Robert Olding
Growing up in Southwestern Idaho, my access to the arts and culture were limited mostly to TV and radio with the occasional foray into macrame and sewing. I had a great love for all things creative and was generally thought of as an all-around weird kid. I kept busy by enlisting my five brothers and sisters to star in my various attempts at filmmaking. My version of Grease is legendary amongst a handful of people living in Idaho. I pursued music and enjoyed many years playing drums with various local bands.
After initially thinking I was going to be a rockstar, I took a photography class as an elective. From the moment I developed my first roll of film, I was hooked. I refocused my creative passions and eventually graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. I have lived and worked in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago. I’m currently settled in Minneapolis. I spend my free time watching my six-year-old daughter grow up and wishing I could be six again, too.
