One part of our daily work is concepting for our clients. Gary Ness of 8th Street Studio recently did some test shots for a company called Sealed Mindset (see above) to give them a sense of what working with the studio might do for their product and brand. At Pro Litho Creative we often present clients with multiple angles and ideas to give them a sense of possibilities and directions.

Many companies choose to go it alone. Not a wrong choice at all, since we live in a DIY society. And, between Pinterest and the powerful design and photography tools available with even the most basic equipment, people are able to create beautiful content without much training, skill, or expense.

But, many clients choose to bring us in as a creative partner — even when they have the tools at hand. Their knowledge and experience makes our work easier. Clients come in with strong visions and ideas as well as a base level of knowledge. We can deliver even stronger results. Here are some of the other reasons they choose to do this:

1. You don’t always know what you don’t know.

In series of talks on the building blocks of good stories, This American Life’s Ira Glass says it is hard to find and tell good stories. The same thing is true for design, for photos, and pretty much any sort of creative work. A substantial amount of time needs to be devoted to trying things out and trashing them.

2. Time and energy are commodities.

For some, there is great value in spending time and energy creating photos and other elements to showcase their business. For others, going with people who have the skills and experience is investing in a high-quality guide. In the beginning, Glass says that taste far exceeds skills. So, let creative pursuits be a passion and a playground, rather than relying on your skills to advance your professional projects.

3. Professional skills bring professional results.

Not to say that there aren’t a lot of very good options when it comes to creating content. But, the look and polish of professional services can elevate your brand, offering a substantial return on investment. Not only do you get an expert’s guidance to ensure quality and a smooth experience, you get ideas and experience that help you deliver.

There is great value in knowledgeable clients. Adding a the knowledge of a creative partner into the mix can bring innovation and other elements that have simple but profound effects, among them, elevating your communications and increasing your results.
